Narrative by John
On March 16, 2003, we went to the Palms Casino in Las Vegas and attended the Kiss concert. The event was fantastic. The concert was a lot different from a regular Kiss concert. The club only holds approximately 1,500 people. There was no pyro, giant Kiss signs, giant video screens, Gene did not blow fire, or spit blood. The only extra was they did have the confetti at the end of the show. This concert had a basic stage and the club was packed with die hard Kiss fans. There were no barriers to keep people away from the stage and the band was able to interact with the fans.

We arrived at the Palms casino at 8:00 AM and got in line. We were only a few people from the front of the line. We waited all day in line, which might seem crazy, but it was a party. We were able to hang out with the Kiss Army. It was great to spend the time with our friends and we were able to make new friends.

Thanks to Bret (San Jose) for the live photos

There was no question that the Kiss Army had came to the Palms casino. The casino was selling Kiss poker chips. The chips were in $5, $25 and $100 denominations. The chips came in a plastic case which looks like a CD case. The case holds 5 chips. We were able to pick up a few of the chips. Some of us picked up more than a few, all of them? The casino had Kiss felt on the black jack tables, giant cardboard Kiss chips hanging from the ceiling (which they sold for $2,000 each) and the casino gift shop was packed with Dragon Fly Kiss shirts and shorts.

Since the stage was so low and we were so close to Gene, within inches, I took off my "MyKissArmy" vest. Micki gave me a pen and Wendy set it on the stage so Gene could see it. Gene walked over and picked up the vest and the pen. He held up the vest and looked at the artwork on it. He carried the vest over to Peter's drum set platform and set it down. He then autographed the vest and gave it back to us. Very cool Gene.
